SCOPE (Pune) OPENS REGIONAL RESOURCE CENTRE IN SATARA, JAVLI BLOCK @ MUNAVLE

On 13/01/09 SCOPE inaugurated new Regional Resources Centre of its Social Service in the Javali Block of Satra ditrict.

SCOPE began its visits to this area way back in 2004. After having earned the trust of the local Kunbi, Dalit, and Gavali-Dhangar communities, this year in January decided to officially open its branch.

From 11.30 am to 02. pm Agricultural officer from the Block office enumerated necessary knowledge and new schemes released by the government to the local people.

There after as the Sabhapati, Upsabhapati, Koyna Dam rehabilitation officer, Block development Officer as well as the Pump Engineering Services Proprietor-Mr. Alfie Monteiro from Pune, along with Mr. Anthony D'Souza aslo from Pune were present for this opening ceremony. The Sabhapati in the presence of other Government officials inaugurated the centre for Total Personality Development and the first ever village library in the Munavale village. This centre has about five

This centre will cater to the 30 villages in the vicinity along the backwaters of the Koyna dam.The programme began with the lighting of the lamp according to the Indian custom. The primary school girls sang a welcomed the guests with a song. The front of the house where the programme was organised was packed with past and the present Sarpanches and Gramsevaks, Women's Savings groups, Farmers Groups, from all the thirty villages made their present conspicuous. After the speeches and promise for cooperation from the Government Officials all sat for afternoon lunch which was provided from the contribution made by local people. With this the programme came to a grand finale.
